The rapper took to social media earlier this week (December 20) to ask fans if they thought there was a reason why the album, which he released in January, is only up for Best Recording Package – and didn’t receive a single nomination in the general or rap categories. “As an artist, when I see da Grammys coming up & I’m not involved nor invited; I wonder. Is it me, my musik, or just another technicality?” Wayne tweeted. “I look around w respect & wonder competitively am I not worthy?! Then I look around & see 5 Grammys looking bak at me & I go to the studio.”

In a tweet, rapper Lil Wayne questioned if he is “worthy” after the Grammys didn’t invite him to the ceremony. The  63rd Grammy Awards, set to air January 31, 2021, is music’s biggest night, featuring star-studded appearances and performances across various genres. This year, however, it seems the NOLA-bred rapper did not receive an invite, which is disappointing to him and his faithful fans. The rapper tweeted, “As an artist, when I see da Grammys coming up & I’m not involved nor invited; I wonder. Is it me , my musik, or just another technicality? Lil Wayne is questioning if he s worthy after failing to score an invite to the Grammys.  The Grammy winner, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr., took to Twitter Sunday to air his grievances about his exclusion from the upcoming 63rd Grammy Awards in January 2021.  As an artist, when I see da Grammys coming up & I’m not involved nor invited; I wonder. Is it me , my musik, or just another technicality? Wayne, 38, tweeted.  Carter released his thirteenth studio album, Funeral, on Jan. 31. It debuted No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, but failed to pick up a single Grammy nomination.
