Florida ‘scohol’ zone warning gets schooled by local media © News 6 WKMG
A Florida “scohol” zone warning in which “school” is misspelled made for a spelling lesson and a few laughs.
“‘SCOHOL’ ZONE,” news station WKMG sportingly tweeted alongside a photo of the street painting blunder in Orlando. “Let the ‘Florida education’ jokes begin.”
The freshly painted notice is next to a speed limit sign telling drivers to pass at 20 mph when a warning light is flashing. An Orange County spokesman reportedly called in an “honest mistake” that was corrected Wednesday evening.
U.S. News & World Report doesn’t think the Sunshine State’s schools are a joke. Its Best States for Education rankings rates Florida third in the nation overall and puts it at the top of the list when it comes to higher education. Only New Jersey and Massachusetts scored better.
