Legendary Musician John Waite Is Coming To Indy
The one and only legend, singer/songwriter John Waite, is coming to the city of Indianapolis!
Waite, the extraordinary talent behind the massive hits “Missing You” and supergroup Bad English’s “When I See You Smile,” will be appearing at the State Fair with Matchbox Twenty’s Kyle Cook on July 31st.
We spoke with Waite Friday afternoon about his upcoming show, his latest album, “Wooden Heart,” and, of course, the story behind his 1984 smash, “Missing You.”
The hit was the only song in 1984 to spend a single week at the top of the Hot 100, pushing Tina Turner’s “What’s Love Got To Do With It” out of the #1 spot and garnering Waite a 1985 Grammy nomination for Best Pop Vocal Performance Male.
