Pork imports from Russia soar ten-fold
Pork imports from Russia surged over 1,000% in the first quarter of this year, making Russia the biggest supplier of pork to Vietnam, according to the General Department of Vietnam Customs.
Data of the department showed that in the first three months of 2021, Vietnam imported 16,550 tons of pork worth US$44.85 million from Russia, soaring 1,116% in volume and 1,002% in value compared with the same period last year.
In total, the country imported 169,290 tons of meat of all kinds worth US$337.18 million in the first quarter, rising 0.5% in volume and 22.4% in value year-on-year.

Hotel Emeline earned a pretty big nod from Travel + Leisure’s “It List 2021: Our Editors’ Picks of the Best New Hotels in the World.”
The 16th annual list spotlights 73 revamped properties in 29 countries that opened their doors for the first time last year. The list is compiled by T+L editors and writers.
The downtown Charleston hotel opened July 1 and Travel + Leisure said it is the “little things that make the hotel memorable.” That includes the welcome punch, the classic soul, bookcases, art, complimentary beach cruisers and turntables in bedrooms.
Guests also enjoy roasted coffee by Second State Coffee and country ham biscuits and kombucha from Clerks Coffee Co., one of two on-site restaurants. The other is Frannie & the Fox, an Italian wood-fired eatery that serves seafood, pizzas and cocktails.
