The No. 13 Ragin’ Cajuns of the University of Louisiana will visit Tuscaloosa’s Rhoads Stadium this weekend to face No. 5 Alabama in a two-game series, weather permitting.
The forecast for Saturday features a 100-percent chance of rain. For now, the schedule is for the teams to square off Saturday and Sunday, with first pitch at 1:30 p.m. CT for both games. If both are played, each will be available on SEC Network+.
That s just the start of Crimson Tide coach Patrick Murphy s concern. The middle infield has been marred by season-ending knee injuries to graduate shortstop Claire Jenkins and freshman second baseman Bailey Dowling.

The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns softball team is now on a three-game winning streak after its 7-0 win over Louisiana Tech on Tuesday.
The win improves Louisiana to 35-7 overall for the season.
How It Happened:
It was the ideal start for the Ragin’ Cajuns.
Kandra Lamb got the start at the mound and recorded three quick outs at the top of the first.
Louisiana scored two runs in the bottom of the first. Ciara Bryan hit a triple to open the frame. Kaitlyn Alderink doubled down the right field line to send Bryan home as she later scored after a single up the middle by Jade Gortarez.
Texas State softball s (27-8 overall, 9-5 Sun Belt) struggles continued from April 17-18 with a 2-1 series loss to the No. 14 University of Louisiana at Lafayette Ragin Cajuns (34-7 overall, 16-2 Sun Belt).
A 7-5 victory over Baylor University on April 14 provided a base for a resurgence after suffering a series sweep against the University of South Alabama, which squashed hopes of a program record-breaking 19th consecutive win.
The series started strong for the Bobcats, who won the first game of the April 17 doubleheader 5-1.
Louisiana opened the scoring in the fourth with an RBI sacrifice bunt from junior utility player Melissa Mayeux. The Ragin Cajuns struggled with hitting until the run, registering only two hits.
