John Michael Bland hit his wife’s head with a hammer A HUSBAND who twice hit his wife on the head with a heavy hammer has been jailed. John Michael Bland, 60, told police he needed to be punished because he was having an affair with another woman, said Andrew Finlay, prosecuting. His wife still loves him and didn’t want to press charges as she didn’t want him to get into trouble, Mr Finlay told York Crown Court. “I love her, I could have killed her,” Bland told his barrister Laura Addy later. Mr Finlay said on January 20, Bland told his wife to close her eyes as he had a surprise.
Gary Enticknap jailed for paedophile Facebook post A PIMP has been jailed for masquerading as police and calling another man a paedophile. Gary Enticknap posted the paedophile comment on a Facebook group with 30,000 members on November 8, 2020, said Michael Greenhalgh, prosecuting. He wrongly claimed to be from the police in the post. He also claimed gangsters with guns would go round to the victim’s house. Enticknap, 45, was on a six-month suspended prison sentence at the time for two offences of controlling prostitutes for gain. He was ordered to serve three months of the suspended prison sentence plus a month for sending a threatening message, which Enticknap, of Skelton, near Saltburn-by-the-Sea, admitted.
Cocaine gangster Lee Robert Waring THE trusted lieutenant of a gang leader made more than £250,000 in the drug trade, York Crown Court heard. Lee Robert Waring, 41, is currently serving a prison sentence of six years and eight months after admitting conspiracy to supply cocaine. At the sentencing hearing a year ago, York Crown Court heard how he was a major member of a drug gang that ran a cocaine pipeline into the Selby and Goole area where they sold the drug through a network of dealers. Both the prosecution and the Recorder of York, Judge Sean Morris, described Waring, of Cottingley Fold, Beeston, as the trusted lieutenant of drug gang leader Matthew Evans, 40, of Doncaster Road, Selby.
