It will be all guns blazing when seventy New Zealand
adventure racing teams line up on the start line for GODZone
Chapter 9 in Rotorua next month.
The multi-day,
nonstop expedition race (4th– 14thMarch 2021) has
attracted some of the world s best racers, including
six-time world adventure racing champions Nathan Fa’avae,
Sophie Hart, Stu Lynch, and Chris Forne of team Avaya and
two time Coast to Coast longest day winner Simone Maier who
is teaming up with All Black legend Richie McCaw, Rob Nichol
and Aaron Prince as team isport.

Dougal Allan has powered his way to his second Coast to Coast Longest Day title, after smashing the final cycle leg into Christchurch.
After navigating 243km of gruelling terrain, the elite men s race came down to the wire, but Allan snuck home to win by 10 minutes over hometown favourite Sam Manson.
The Wanaka native sped the last 69.5km cycle leg to Christchurch s New Brighton Beach to regain the title he won two years ago.
The event sees competitors run, bike and kayak the 243km race from Kumara Beach on the West Coast to New Brighton Beach.
“I did get caught up in it last year and I sort of raced Sam Clark the man rather than Coast to Coast the course and that didn’t work out for me,” he said. “That’s been a big focus for me this summer and it s definitely the mindset I want to take into Saturday.” The 35-year-old Allan will be lining up in his ninth Coast to Coast, having first competed in 2008. With a young family (he and wife Amy are parents to Flynn, six, and Matilda, four) and endurance coaching business, he wasn’t sure how many future events he had left in him.
