On April 21, he said he had a dentist appointment and could not attend a scheduled hearing. Last week, his lawyer told the court Eaglesome had emailed him the night before the hearing, informing him he was in Laos in Southeast Asia. Police then confirmed to Stuff that Eaglesome had left the country. It was unclear if police would work with international agencies to bring Eaglesome back to New Zealand. Police had no further comment. Stuff Wayne Eaglesome, also known as Alex Bergen and many other names, has failed to appear in the Auckland District Court twice on his recent charges.

The election review panel recommended making Māori a priority area, and suggested they develop a diversity plan and embed diversity across the party s membership, caucus, candidate and Board .
