The threat led to the evacuation of two ferries berthed in the Marlborough town, as well as the terminal buildings, while the search was undertaken on Monday.
The man will appear in the Blenheim District Court on Tuesday, charged with threatening to harm people and property.
On Monday afternoon, police confirmed the 33-year-old had been arrested in relation to the threat. We appreciate today s incident caused considerable disruption and distress for many, Marlborough area commander Insp Simon Feltham said. I would like to acknowledge our specialist search group staff, who flew from Wellington to complete an extensive search of both the terminal buildings and ferries, and the investigation team, who identified and located the alleged offender.
