LOS ANGELES (Variety.com) – Television dominated the roster of nominees for the 2021 MTV Movie & TV Awards, which returns this May after a year-long hiatus due, at least in part, to the COVID-19 pandemic. But with the kind of crowd-pleasing, popcorn-ready films that the MTV awards show normally celebrates mostly delayed due to the pandemic, TV has taken a front seat this year.
The MTV Movie & TV Awards are back in action after the pandemic forced the network to throw a very, very scaled back special in lieu of a ceremony last December.
The nominees for the May show were announced Monday morning, promising plenty of film and TV fun at the 2021 honors.
WandaVision has the best chances of taking home a golden popcorn trophy, boasting five nods - which include best show, best performance in a show, best hero, best villain and best fight.
