As covid cases remain well in the double digits in Marion, Mattapoisett and Rochester, public health officials have to keep track of not just who has covid but who may have been exposed as well.
And when cases have spiked in all three towns since Thanksgiving, that means public health nurses have to do a lot more tracking to make sure the community stays safe.

To date, the center has had 136 confirmed cases of covid since May 8. There have been ten hospital visits among residents and staff since the beginning of the pandemic.
MARION Sippican Healthcare Center now has 15 deaths due to covid, according to Kathy Soderberg, Chief Compliance Officer of the healthcare center’s parent company, Whittier Health.
Cases skyrocketed at the healthcare center when a 33-case cluster broke out early in November. Before the November outbreak, the healthcare center was able to successfully keep covid rates low, with only twelve cases between May and the start of the outbreak.
Since the outbreak, Sippican Healthcare Center’s total case count has reached 136. 10 residents and staff have been hospitalized due to covid.
