Another head coach is taking an assistant coaching position with the Texas Longhorns under Chris Beard, as Rodney Terry is leaving the UTEP Miners for a spot on Beard’s bench, according to a report from Chip Brown of Horns247. Stadium’s Jeff Goodman confirmed the news.
Terry has been connected to the job since Beard was hired by the Longhorns last Thursday Thursday.
Beard has already hired UT-Arlington head coach Chris Ogden to return to his alma mater, as well as bringing Texas Tech assistant Ulric Maligi to Austin as Texas Tech elevated Beard assistant Mark Adams to the head role in Lubbock.

It took one of the most dramatic endings in NCAA Tournament history for the top-seeded Gonzaga Bulldogs to put away the 11th-seeded UCLA Bruins. Jalen Suggs banked home a three-pointer as the buzzer sounded in overtime to lift the Zags to a 93-90 win to preserve their pursuit of perfection. Drew Timme had a team-high 25 points and drew the charge that forced overtime. Suggs finished with 16 points for the Bulldogs. Johnny Juzang finished with a game-high 29 points. Earlier in the day, number-one seed Baylor breezed past number-two seeded Houston 78-59 in the other Final Four matchup. Jared Butler had 17 points to lead the Bears while Marcus Sasser had 20 for the Cougars.
