PPP to rescue Kashmiris from oppressors : Aseefa
Says her party always stood firm in its pro-Kashmir position.

Aseefa Bhutto Zardari said on Saturday that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) would rescue the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir from the oppressors .
The Bhutto scion, who is canvassing for the general elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) due on July 25, was addressing an election rally in the state’s Muzaffarabad.
Aseefa reminded the participants of the gather that her party had made sacrifices for the sake of democracy and always stood firm in its pro-Kashmir position.
“Our relationship with Kashmir goes back to three generations. PPP was with Kashmir before and still is today.”

Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said on Thursday the Sindh government would have to withdraw the decision of transforming the Dow University s Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (IPMR) into a separate degree-awarding institute entitled Sindh Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (SIPMR).
He was addressing a protest demonstration held outside the Dow University. A large number of students were holding placards and chanting slogans, demanding of the provincial government to reverse its bill converting the IPMR into SIPMR, which would jeopardise the academic future of around 500 students.
Rehman requested the Supreme Court to take suo moto notice of the matter, and asked Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and the provincial education minister to play their due role to safeguard the future of the students instead of facilitating the varsity’s china-cutting.

KARACHI: The National Institute of Health (NIH), Islamabad, has started approaching various institutions performing genome sequencing of Coronavirus throughout the country to become part of a national consortium for sharing their data research, while experts in Karachi claimed to have found out some ‘unidentified variants’ following genotyping of 94 randomly selected SARS-COV-2 samples.
“We have approached around eight to 10 institutions, conducting partial or whole genome sequencing of SARS-COV-2 or Coronavirus and offered them to join research and share data with each other,” an official of the National Institute of Health (NIH), Islamabad, told The News on Thursday. The official said in addition to the NIH, Islamabad, there were some institutions that have the capacity to perform partial or complete genome sequencing of the SARS-COV-2 but added they were not sharing their research and data with each other. “
