Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that communities depend on the institutes that integrate Taleem (education) with Tarbiyat (teaching and training) so that society accepts people with challenges and gives them equal opportunities of life and progress.
This the chief executive said on Saturday as he was addressing the inaugural ceremony of the Karachi Vocational Training Centre (KVTC) in DHA Phase-IV by Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan.
The CM said that establishing the KVTC was a big milestone in the lives of the differently-abled people all across Pakistan, but particularly those of Sindh.
Shah said that the KVTC has been playing a pivotal role in the training and holistic development of the special people of our society, being the only institute aligning with international standards.

In a major upset in the Senate election, Yousaf Raza Gilani, the joint candidate of opposition parties, has been elected senator from Islamabad, by defeating Abdul Hafeez Shaikh of the ruling party, according to unofficial results.
Yousaf Raza Gilani, a former prime minister who belongs to the PPP, enjoyed the support of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), an alliance cobbled together by a dozen opposition parties against the embattled government of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Following the shock defeat of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Abdul Hafeez Shaikh in the Senate elections on Wednesday, the members of the opposition are questioning the moral justification of Prime Minister Imran Khan to stay at the helm.
On the other hand, the government accused the opposition of indulging in corrupt practices to win the hotly-contested Senate elections.
After the announcement of the results, PDM Head Maulana Fazlur Rehman, while congratulating Gilani on his historic victory over Shaikh, said that the “fake prime minister” has lost his majority, adding that Imran Khan should resign today.

The PPP s Central Election Cell incharge, Taj Haider, has written a letter to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) urging it to investigate the mysterious behaviour of some members of the Sindh Assembly, who he said were reportedly staying at private hotels in Karachi.
In the letter dated March 2, Haider referred to media reports that said MPAs belonging to three opposition parties in the province have been moved to private hotels ahead of the Senate elections that are taking place today.
