Circus to offer various lessons

Cynthia Johnson, a former competitive gymnast and current gymnastics coach at Durango Gymnastics Academy, will be available May 31 to June 5 and July 26 – 31 for private and semi private lessons in aerial silks, trapeze, lyra, hand-balancing, tumbling and contortion, Salida Circus announced recently. No experience is necessary and children and adults of all ages and levels are welcome. Pricing is flexible. Johnson has more than 15 years of gymnastics coaching experience and also coaches and performs with The Durango Circus and Secret Circus Society. She is safety and technique certified by USA Gymnastics and is professionally trained in circus. Originally from Rhinelander, Wisconsin, Johnson said, “There were no classes there when I was growing up.

UA Little Rock students honor one-of-a-kind faculty members No Comments University of Arkansas at Little Rock students are honoring faculty members who have made a positive impact in their lives through the 2021 We Heart Our Faculty Awards.   Overall, six UA Little Rock faculty members were selected by undergraduate, graduate, and law school students. Each of the recipients will receive a certificate and a one-of-a-kind, handmade glass heart created by Pine Bluff glass artist James Hayes in the colors of UA Little Rock.  The glass hearts symbolize positive, influential support that makes a real difference in the lives of students. How a local charity is showing moms they are Mint to Be

Victoria Young CONCORD — Sharee Allen, Founder of Mint to Be, said it s important to help expectant mothers navigate pregnancy without losing themselves in the process, especially now.  Allen launched Mint to Be in the beginning of 2020 after she and her husband moved to the Charlotte area. Allen s husband was in the U.S. Marine Crops for over 11 years and was stationed in multiple countries during that time. Allen said through her experience as a military spouse, she saw first hand how other military spouses and partners had to go through child bearing and rearing alone when their partners were away.
