Indonesia cuts rate 10th time and lowers GDP forecast
Indonesia s central bank cut it s key interest rates for the 10th time in the current easing cycle, as widely expected, and trimmed its forecast for economic growth in 2021 following a slower-than-expected rebound in the fourth quarter of last year.
Bank Indonesia (BI) lowered its benchmark 7-day reverse repo rate by another 25 basis points to 3.50 percent and has now cut it by a total of 2.50 percentage points since it began easing its monetary policy stance in July 2019 in response to a slowdown in global economic growth.
BI also lowered its other main interest rates by the same amount, lowering the deposit rate to 2.75 percent and the lending rate to 4.25 percent.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Commissioner George Cooper warned that act intended to undermine the tangible Development initiatives for Larkay-ta Township and its environs will not go with impunity.

Northeast Asian utilities expand search for power generation oil amid LNG supply crunch
Northeast Asian utilities are set to extend their search for more power generation oil amid tight natural gas and LNG supply, as South Korean power companies issue multiple tenders to secure fuel oil, while Japanese electricity providers continue to search for any available direct-burning crude oil in the region.
The low availability of spot LNG export cargoes in Malaysia and Indonesia, coupled with Panama Canal restrictions and ice conditions in North Asian ports have contributed to the LNG supply crunch in Northeast Asia in recent weeks.
As a result, the tighter LNG stocks prompted Northeast Asian electricity providers to secure, by whatever means necessary, other sources of power generation and industrial feedstocks to keep up with robust winter energy demand.
All 10 songs on ‘Vaksin Slank’ were written by drummer Bimo Setiawan or Bimbim, with themes that include love, the environment, social justice and the youth.
“The songs were written in 2020, as a reflection of what’s happened. Hopefully the album can be as a sort of a guide in dealing with the pandemic,” Bimbim said in the press conference.

With social restrictions in place, band members recorded ‘Vaksin Slank’ separately. Singer Akhadi Wira Satriaji (also known as Kaka) recorded his vocals on the island of Banda Neira, Maluku, located around 2,600 kilometres away from the capital city of Jakarta. At the time, Kaka was involved in a COVID-19 health campaign that brought him to the island.
