Keller says education and youth development are key ingredients for success

Pratt Tribune 4-H is the state of Kansas  largest positive youth development program with over a century of presence in Kansas. Kansas 4-H donors Bill and Cindy Keller, from Pratt, have committed $625,000 to advance positive youth development in Kansas. Their gift will be utilized in two ways: $500,000 for capital improvements at Rock Springs Ranch and $125,000 in annual support for the essential needs of Kansas youth.  “I believe that 4-H provides the best youth leadership program in the United States,” Keller said. “4-H is a tradition in my family. My parents were both involved in 4-H. They talked to their five children about how much influence it had in their lives and how important it was to get involved in a variety of projects.”

Reaching out while staying in

JEFFERSON — If your kids are in quarantine, the “happiest season of all” might not be the first phrase that comes to mind to describe this December. But through the City of Jefferson’s new “Season of Giving” activities, families can encourage their children to reach out to others even as they stay “safer at home.” “Season of Giving” is the name of a new Jefferson recreation department program which seems tailor-made for this pandemic year. With doorstep delivery and pickup, the program provides all of the materials children need to complete at-home craft projects with a different focus each week.
