The US military conducted an air strike in Somalia on Friday against Al Qaeda affiliated Al-Shabaab extremists, the second in four days after a six-month hiatus, the Pentagon said.
The US military command for Africa (AFRICOM), conducted an airstrike against Al-Shabaab in the vicinity of Qeycad in Galmudug province 300 miles (500 kilometers) north of the capital Mogadishu, Pentagon spokeswoman Cindi King told AFP.

L’armée américaine a mené, vendredi, une frappe aérienne en Somalie contre des jihadistes shebabs affiliés à Al-Qaïda, la deuxième en quatre jours après une interruption de six mois, a-t-on appris auprès du Pentagone. Le commandement militaire pour l’Afrique (Africom) «a mené aujourd’hui une frappe aérienne dans les environs de Qeycad», dans la province de Galmudug, à 500 km au nord-est de Mogadiscio, a indiqué une porte-parole du Pentagone, Cindi King. Il n’y avait aucun militaire américain au sol, aux côtés de l’armée somalienne, a souligné la porte-parole, précisant qu’il s’agissait d’une frappe de drone.
