Date Time Pedestrians injured in separate crashes across Sydney Police are investigating after two pedestrians were injured after being hit in separate incidents in the Sydney metropolitan area. The first incident happened about 9.30pm yesterday (Thursday 8 April 2021), when an 80-year-old man was struck by a utility as he crossed Gow Street, Padstow. The man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken to Liverpool Hospital in a serious but stable condition with head and arm injuries. Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command spoke with the driver of the yellow Holden ute, a man believed to be aged in his 50s. He was taken to Bankstown Hospital for mandatory testing.

Police appeal to find missing man in Sydney CBD

Police are appealing for public information to find a man missing from the Sydney CBD. Nil Sharma, aged 48, was last seen at the Bathurst Street entrance to Town Hall Train Station, about 12pm Friday 2 April 2021, after he had walked off from his carer. Police were contacted by Mr Sharma’s carer that afternoon, with officers attached to Sydney City Police Area Command commencing an investigation into Mr Sharma’s whereabouts. Police and family hold serious concerns for his welfare as Mr Sharma has a medical condition that requires medication. Mr Sharma’s phone was located in the Woolloomooloo area. Mr Sharma is described as being of Indian Sub-Continental appearance, 175cm tall, with medium build, with short grey hair.

Man in court over assault - Pyrmont

A man will appear in court today over an alleged assault at Pyrmont this morning. About 4am (Friday 2 April 2021), emergency services were called to Pirrama Road, following reports a man had been punched several times by an unknown man on the footpath. A member of the public intervened before the man ran to a nearby licensed premises where he was detained by security. The injured man suffered facial injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics, however, did not require hospital treatment. Officers from Sydney City Police Area Command arrived and arrested the 26-year-old man. He was taken to Day Street Police Station and charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and affray.
