Whether on my facebook wall, deafening phone calls or via physical engagements, the debates over the piece have been heated with some impugning all manner of motives. There were also those who rather than being locked in some doctrinaire positions, sided with my views that Marxist-Leninist theory is a tool for analysing, explaining and understanding our society and not a dogma. I should however be a little upbeat that at least many were indeed tickled by the 1,885 word tribute.

Dubawa Kick-starts 2021 Fact-checking Training To Combat Misinformation Twenty-six successful applicants will undergo a training that will equip them to combat the widespread regime of misinformation aka ‘fake news’ in the West African sub-region. by SaharaReporters, New York May 19, 2021 West Africa’s verification and fact-checking platform, Dubawa, has started the induction of twenty-six fellows into its 2021 class of fact-checkers to combat misinformation in the sub-region. The platform, under the aegis of the Premium Times Centre for Investigative Journalism, announced the commencement of the yearly fellowship in Abuja on Monday.  Having run for three consecutive years, the 2021 fellowship is christened Kwame Karikari Fact-Checking and Research Fellowship in honour of Ghanaian Professor, Kwame Karikari.
