Registration begins for Bass Pro Shops U.S. Open

Registration for the first three regional qualifiers for the Bass Pro Shops U.S. Open Lake Okeechobee, Fla. (March 13); Lake Ray Roberts, Texas (April 17); and Lake Mead, Nev. (April 24) opened today at basspro.com/usopen. Registration will be open for 24 hours only and allows amateur anglers to be entered in a drawing to compete as one of 250 two-person teams in regional qualifying events this spring. Bass Pro Shops last week announced the first-of its-kind amateur team tournament with a total guaranteed purse of $4.3 million.
With proceeds benefitting conservation and the future of fishing, the event is exclusively for amateurs who own a Tracker, Ranger, Nitro, Triton, Sun Tracker, Tahoe or MAKO boat. The Top 40 finishers from each regional qualifier will be eligible to fish the National Championship this fall at Big Cedar Lodge on Table Rock Lake in Missouri.
Public comment submission time extended for proposed The Cedars, medical office building projects
Anyone who would like to submit written comments about two proposed Hendersonville developments has more time to do so due to state law.
Public hearings were held Thursday during City Council s meeting regarding a hotel resort that includes the restoration of The Cedars hotel on Seventh Avenue West, and a medical office building on Fleming Street.
A state law allows the submission of written comments from the public at any time from when notice of public hearings is given to 24 hours after they re held when the hearings are held during remote meetings. The law prohibits public bodies from voting on the matters until 24 hours after the hearings.

On Monday, in an effort to kickstart Bass Pro Shops 50th anniversary celebration this year, a brand new fishing tournament concept was announced in a livestream event.
And make no mistake about it, the new U.S. Open National Bass Fishing Amateur Team Championships series is big. Johnny Morris big, to be exact.
That s because the founder of the Bass Pro Shops retail empire is creating a unique, amateur-driven event with a total cash and prize purse of $4.3 million, including a staggering $1 million winner s check for the winning two-person team in the three-day championship event on Missouri s Table Rock Lake Nov. 19-21.

Noted conservationist and BPS founder Johnny Morris had a dream to create the ultimate owners appreciation event while benefitting conservation. The first-of-its-kind tournament invites owners of Tracker, Ranger, Nitro, Triton, Sun Tracker, Tahoe and MAKO brand boats to compete in two-person teams.
With proceeds benefitting conservation and the future of fishing, the event is being created exclusively for amateurs including serious weekend tournament anglers, parents, grandparents, and youngsters, giving everyday anglers, friends, and families the chance to win big.
