Sims Recreation Center, the Tri-City Animal Shelter, and the Zula B. Wylie Public Library. All essential services, including Police, Fire, Streets, and Utilities, will continue operations. Medical Examiner Identified Cedar Hill Missing Person Caldwell    Jorian Caldwell Identified As Body recovered From Pond CEDAR HILL – The Cedar Hill Police Department announced today that the body found in a pond in the 1600 block of W. Belt Line Road on November 21, 2020 has been identified as missing person Jorian Caldwell, a 22-year-old male. Caldwell went missing on November 13, 2020 around 9:30 pm. He had last been seen on foot in the 1700 block of Mansfield Rd at 4 am in the morning. On November 18, Police Chief Reyes announced the search was ending, “I am sad to report that after several days of intensive search efforts, we have not been able to locate Jorian Caldwell.” At that time the Caldwell family established a GoFund Me to assist with hiring a private investigator. Sadly, a few days later Caldwell’s body was recovered from the pond.

The Athens City Council made a move on Monday that hasn t occurred many times over the past half century. It chose a new Chief of Police. Police veteran John Densmore comes to Athens from the Cedar Hill Police Department, where he was a lieutenant. The City of Athens has been extremely thorough in its search for a new police chief, City Manager Elizabeth Borstad said. Mr. Densmore is a well-qualified, experienced individual with a passion for law-enforcement. I look forward to working with him.

Focus Daily News Cedar Hill Police Locate Missing Man CEDAR HILL – The Cedar Hill Police Department has located the missing 59-year-old man who disappeared Sunday morning, December 13. Cedar Hill resident Sherman Lee Daugthery was reported missing from his home at around 9 a.m. in the 1200 block of Neptune Street. Daugthery was located in Desoto later Sunday afternoon at around 3 p.m. Cedar Hill Police said he “appeared to be uninjured and in good health.” Officers arrived at Neptune Street Sunday morning and met with the missing man’s sister. She informed officers she had last seen her brother at 4 a.m. Sunday morning when he had returned inside the home after smoking a cigarette. She said from there he went to his bedroom. When Daugthery’s sister woke up at around 8 a.m., she reported her brother was not in the home and she began looking for him.
