Show Transcript Yeah, I m gonna tell you what we re seeing right now. This is the extended studio hotel in Jackson. The Jackson Fire departments working toe put out this fire. The flames are mostly gone, but there s still smoke coming from the building. You can see the wind is blowing this smoke. There s a consider a consider amount of wind in the air, which is making this fire difficult to contain. And I have three day is really cold out here. So I could only imagine what the Jackson Fire Department dealing with right now trying to put the fire out in these conditions and take a look at your screen. You ll see what looks like about 20 minutes earlier, the flames were raging in this side of the building. It says, uh, this is building 12 over here. And, um, these conditions were very tough. And so you grew up in the midst of the civil rights movement. What do you remember most about that time? Well, I remember watching the the evening news. I will see dogs biting individuals I saw individuals being spent on. I saw individuals being beaten, and I couldn t understand why. But I keep hearing this these words Freedom Riders. Starting Monday, Mississippians can receive their vaccinations at their local Walmart pharmacy. Starting the week of Feb. 8, dozens of Wal-Mart pharmacies throughout the state will begin vaccinations as part of a new federal pharmacy program. We understand that approximately 30 different stores throughout the state with pharmacies will be activated. We don t have a final list of what those stores are, but we will let you know, said State Health Officer Dr. Thomas Dobbs.On Tuesday, Dr. Dobbs announced that 6,200 doses will be administered at participating stores next week.The purpose of the program is to increase access to underserved communities and closing the gap in racial disparity among vaccinations. You know, Walmart is just about everywhere. AS OF SUNDAY EVENING IF YOU GO TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH WEBSITE TO BOOK A FIRST DOSE APPOINTMENT..THERE ARE NONE. BUT THAT COULD CHANGE AT ANY POINT THIS WEEK AND RIGHT NOW IT S WAITING GAME. ON SATURDAY JANUARY 24TH THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH IS REPORTING 180,000 TOTAL VACCINE DOSES ADMINISTERED. AND NEW FIRST DOSE APPOINTMENTS COME OUT EACH WEEK BUT ONCE THEY RE ONLINE THEY RE GONE BEFORE YOU KNOW IT. DR. MARK HORNE PRESIDENT OF THE MISSISSIPPI MEDICAL ASSOCIATION SAYS THAT S BECAUSE THE DEMAND IS JUST TOO HIGH. ONLY IN THIS CASE THERE S 37,000 NEW FIRST DOSES EACH WEEK.
