Romee s previous owner was convicted of animal cruelty in January, according to WKRC, and will be on probation for three years. The owner is also required to pay more than $15,000 towards Romee s medical bills. Last month, Dog Warden Captain Brandon Corcoran, helped secure a conviction in the case of Romee, the shelter wrote in a Facebook post earlier this month. The case was brought to our attention by Dr. Tammie Smith at Anderson Hills Animal Care Hospital, was swiftly investigated and successfully prosecuted.

CINCINNATI (FOX19) - After surviving severe burns, a dog at the center of an animal cruelty investigation could soon be helping others by working as a therapy dog.
Romee is just 7 months, but heâs already been through a lot in his life. Ray Anderson with Cincinnati Animal CARE Humane Society says the lab-shepherd mix is a survivor.

For as long as she can remember, 22-year-old Molly Wilson has been calmed by horses. So when she was diagnosed with schizophrenia at the age of 16, after years of hearing voices and other hallucinations, her parents, Greg and Melanie, automatically thought of horse therapy.
“We quickly learned that her hallucinations disappeared around them,” Greg Wilson says. The Wilsons ended up buying their daughter a horse: Gracie, who was housed in a barn about 5 minutes from their house in North Carolina. Molly visited Gracie regularly and would also venture out to see her when she felt symptoms coming on.
