America’s electoral “Chartthrob” Steve Kornacki has signed a deal with NBCUniversal that will show he’s more than just an electoral guru and one of the 100 sexiest men alive. First reported by the
Los Angeles Times, our stud of stats will officially bring his analytical skills to the network’s sports coverage of the Olympics, horse racing, NFL football Sunday night games, and Super Bowl LVI. Kornacki will also develop and host his own game show, although no further details were provided about the show.
NBC News and MSNBC political correspondent Steve Kornacki had only slept for a few hours in the five days between Election Day and the afternoon of Nov. 7 when the board with his electoral vote map showed Joe Biden winning the presidency. But it was his necktie that got the worst of it.
The blue, green and white striped tie was held together by staples by the end of the bruising 2020 campaign. A few days later, Kornacki posted a picture of it on Twitter, where his growing legion of fans said it belonged in the Smithsonian.
On his way home from the Rockefeller Center studio, Kornacki called his agent Olivia Metzger to tell her about the tie, which he had tossed in a wastebasket. In the fog of covering the election results, Kornacki had not yet absorbed how he became a TV icon and internet obsession (#chartthrob and #TrackingKornacki were among his hashtags) and that the clothing accessory was a part of history.

A new report has brought attention to NBC News failing to disclose that its Chairman Cesar Conde serves on the boards of multinational corporations Pepsi and Walmart when reporting on those companies.
The
Wall Street Journal, in a profile of Conde published Monday, noted the fact that the NBC executive who took on his role in May 2020 is also a board member for the publicly traded companies PepsiCo Inc. and Walmart Inc. He joined the former board in 2016 and the latter in 2019.
When the
Journal raised the question of potential conflicts of interest, an NBCUniversal spokesman responded, “Mr. Conde would recuse himself from weighing in on stories involving Walmart and Pepsi.”
NBC News chairman Cesar Conde has newly-revealed ongoing business ties that are raising eyebrows.
Conde, who took over as the boss of the Peacock Network s news division in May 2020, is on the board of directors for both Walmart and Pepsi, as first reported in the Wall Street Journal as a glaring revelation in a broader report about the broader direction NBC News is heading.
Critics took to social media and called the arrangement inappropriate and sounded the alarm on the potential conflict of interest.
When reached out by Fox News for comment, an NBC News spokesperson pointed to the statement that was provided to WSJ, which was that Conde would recuse himself from weighing in on stories involving both companies.
