Fishing industry surveys seek data on pandemic impacts and tech priorities

That’s demonstrated by two new surveys – one which aims to quantify how much Alaska fishermen and processors paid out over the past year to lessen COVID impacts and how much relief they got from government programs, the other to learn what technology needs are tops with harvesters. The Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute is collecting information not available elsewhere on the pandemic impacts.

At the time of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle s wedding in 2018, many commentators seized on signs Britain s royal family was embracing the 21st century. The young prince was marrying a mixed-race, divorcee from America who showed independent spirit like Harry s late mother Diana, the princess of Wales, and who was being welcomed with great fanfare into the royal household. It was as if the exclusivity of royalty and blue blood could be erased with a photo-op, one black British commentator, who asked not to be named, said in hindsight of the hopes the wedding once inspired.

Local author, Terry Stanton, will visit Forster and Taree Libraries this month to talk about his latest novel, ‘No Mayday! No Mayday!’.
Terry is a retired English solicitor living in NSW with his wife Christine. This is Terry’s second novel, his first ‘Deliver me from Evil’ is about the real 17
th Century Earl of Strafford whose head was cut off by Parliament.
He wrote No Mayday! No Mayday! because the official accounts of MH370 seemed not to add up, but his book is fiction, not representative of any real person and explores what might have happened.
The book’s main character, is Lynn Galloway, a television reporter from Sydney who is filming at Sydney Airport when a distraught Australian woman harangues her. The woman’s husband was on a plane flying to Beijing when the plane vanished, now everyone wants to know what happened. How and why did it disappear? Was the plane hijacked or did the pilot commit suicide? Did it crash somewhere?
Bangabandhu a towering figure of 20th century

A senior diplomat of the US government said that Bangladesh’s founding father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was a ‘towering figure of the twentieth century’ who shaped modern Bangladesh.
Acting Assistant Secretary of Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs of the US Department of State Dean Thompson stated this while speaking at a webinar on Sunday to commemorate the historic March 7 speech delivered by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Thompson in his speech said that the historic speech inspired the people of Bangladesh to fight for independence and continues to inspire the people of Bangladesh to develop their country even further.
