Tricia Sauer will work across Minnesota with farmers and growers on specialty crops.

Tricia Sauer is joining the Central Lakes College staff as its new Specialty Crops Farm Business Management instructor.
Sauer has a Master of Professional Studies in Horticulture and an MBA in Business Management. Her experiences at Century College, where she has been a horticulture instructor, make her well poised to serve in this role, according to a CLC news release.
“Tricia has a wealth of experience that will benefit our specialty crops producers as they work to create or continue a profitable business venture,” said Cory Detloff, Director of Ag & Energy/Farm Business Management at CLC, in the release.

Chairman’s Award
Also honored during the ceremony was this year’s recipient of the NKBA Chairman’s Award. The NKBA Chairman’s Award was created in 2009 (originally as the President’s Award) to recognize industry leaders for their unparalleled positive impact on the NKBA and the industry.
Lowe’s was the winner of the 2021 NKBA Chairman’s Award, which was presented by Allison Lowrie, NKBA Chair for 2020 and accepted by Lowe’s Executive Vice President of Merchandising, Bill Boltz.
Marc Christian Westerbur, 50, of Mountain Iron, went peacefully to be with his Lord on Feb. 2, 2021, at home with his family by his side. He resided in Mountain Iron, Minn., with his wife and children since 1995.
Marc was born May 1, 1970, in Virginia, Minn., to his parents Ron and Bobbi (Pfremmer) Westerbur. He was raised in Virginia, and was a VHS Class of 1989 graduate. Marc loved playing football in high school. He attended Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn., for two years playing football for the Cobbers and also attended Century College in White Bear Lake, Minn., where he studied to be a Certified Practitioner of Orthotics.
