All these growers agree on one point: Residual herbicides are crucial. If these growers are any indication, people are still evaluating weed control options for soybeans for 2021. However, there is a strong tendency to stick with what has worked while considering what new options have to offer. And there’s strong agreement that residual herbicides are key to effective weed control. Greg Dieckmann, Buckner, Mo., participated in Bayer’s stewardship program for Asgrow XtendFlex soybeans in 2020. The XtendFlex system, with tolerance to glyphosate, dicamba and glufosinate, the active ingredient in Liberty, is approved for 2021.

Monday evening the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety opened bids for 2021 fuel and street materials. Ceres Solutions was the only company to provide a bid for fuel.  Diesel was bid at $2.23 with all taxes included while gasoline was $1.97 with all taxes.  The amounts were based on the daily rate.  The city has the option to select a firm price for the entire year or go with the current rate which would be set when the make their purchases. Bids were also opened for Street Material.  Stockberger Trucking and Irvin Materials submitted bids on various supplies.  Number 53 gravel was $11.75 per ton at Stockberger while Irvin did not bid that item.  Ice sand was $9.75 a ton at Stockberger and $9.00 at Irvin, Fill Dirt is $7.75 at Stockberger and $9.00 at Irvin, Fill Sand was bid at $8.75 a ton at Stockberger and $7.75 at Irvin.  Number 53 Crushed limestone is $20.50 a ton and #73 crushed is $21.50 per ton at Stockberger and the crushed limestone, both 53’s and 73’s wa

Donations to benefit local hunger programs Friday, December 18, 2020 4:00 AM According to Sandra Van Den Berg of Third Phase, this local charity especially appreciates Ceres’ financial support. “Every penny will be used to purchase food this year the need has increased by 60% and we expect demand to increase even more this winter. People who used to donate are now in line for our services. Please keep us in your prayers and stay safe!” Photo provided More than $35,000 in charitable donations has been presented to local food banks and pantries just this season alone thanks to the enthusiasm and dedication of local residents who make their living in production agriculture. The donations were given through Ceres Solutions, and were made possible by local farmers and customers who have done business with the company in the last year.
