Subscriber only Queensland Health has issued urgent health advice to anyone who has been to a declared NSW exposure site and is currently in Queensland - they must quarantine at home immediately. For those who have returned from NSW, but have not been to a listed exposure site, should get tested if they develop any symptoms. Chief health officer Jeannette Young said it was crucial that anyone who had been to the exposure sites undertook quarantine at home. NSW Health has already made it clear that anyone who has been to any of those venues, should be quarantining, and not getting on flights, she said.

NSW Health was notified this evening that fragments of the virus that causes COVID-19 have been detected in the Marrickville Sewage Network. This catchment includes about 42,000 people and takes sewage from the following suburbs: Dulwich Hill, Marrickville, Summer Hill, Lewisham, Ashfield, Haberfield, Petersham, Lilyfield and Leichhardt.
NSW Health is asking everyone in these areas to be especially vigilant in monitoring for symptoms, and if they appear get tested and isolate immediately until a negative result is received.
Queenslanders have been put on alert after NSW recorded a new local Covid case with no known link to other infections.
NSW Health revealed on Wednesday a man in his 50s from Sydney s eastern suburbs tested positive to the virus after visiting a spate of venues across the city.
Queensland Health have now ordered anyone in the Sunshine State who visited a Covid exposure site in NSW during the specified times to quarantine at home. NSW Health has already made it clear that anyone who has been to any of those venues, should be quarantining, and not getting on flights, Queensland Chief Health Officer Jeannette Young said.
Genomic sequencing of the COVID-19 strain has matched it to a returned traveller from the United States who entered hotel quarantine in Sydney on April 26, however the link between the pair and the traveller has not been established raising concerns there is one or more cases moving undetected in the community.
Meanwhile, Queensland now requires anyone entering the state from NSW who has visited any of a growing list of Sydney exposure sites to to go into hotel quarantine.
Anyone already in Queensland who has been to one of the venues of concern is advised to isolate in their home and get tested.
