Young Emirati biker killed in Fujairah road crash

He died on the spot after his motorcycle crashed into a car.
A young Emirati motorcyclist was killed after he rammed his bike into a car in Fujairah s Faisal area on Sunday afternoon.
Col Saleh Al Dhanhani, director of the Traffic and Patrols Department, Fujairah Police, said the victim in his 20s and identified only as HKS died on the spot.
Upon being alerted, the central operations room of the Fujairah Police immediately dispatched traffic patrols, ambulances, civil defence teams and paramedics to the reported site.
The new Road Crash Rescue operators completed their course on Saturday, passing technical theory and practical assessments.
They’re all set for any challenging moment, having been trained in Industrial Rescue, Domestic Rescue and Road Crash Rescue.
With plenty more room for members, SES officials are now encouraging other locals to consider joining the crew.
New recruitment will start in March with training beginning in April.

But Sgt French said blood runs were a little-known service the police and Highway Patrol perform on a regular basis. It s a service that literally saves lives. We can deliver blood, organs, or in some cases a medical specialist in an urgent situation, but in rural areas, blood delivery is the most common, he said. Once the call for an urgent blood delivery goes out over police radio, Sgt French said it wasn t just a matter of jumping in the car and driving fast down a highway.

TWO people were killed while another was injured in a road crash involving three vehicles at Jalan Bukit Pasir near Muar, today.
Pagoh Fire and Rescue Station operations commander, senior fire officer I Radin Hamimah Mohammad said a distress call on the incident, involving a Toyota Hilux, a lorry and a Proton Saga FLX, was received at 9.29am.
