Police investigating several shots fired calls, one narrowly missing a child

Photo: WINA CHARLOTTESVILLE (WINA) – Charlottesville Police are investigating and very concerned about multiple shots fired calls throughout the city the past few days. The most recent Saturday morning barely missed a sleeping child. Police say they were called around 7 Saturday morning to the 800 block of Hardy Drive to a disorder with shots fired. The randomly fired bullet traveled two blocks and hit a house in the 800 block of Anderson Street near where a child was sleeping in its bed. The night before, city police were called to the 900 block of Nassau Street for a report of 8-to-10 shots fired with a car of unknown make or model leaving the area at a high rate of speed. No one was hurt.
