UoN Once a Month was launched this year at UoN as a branch of the wider Once a Month campaign. The student-led project aims to tackle period poverty and help vulnerable women access the products they need. I caught up with project co-lead and president Sachi Kulkarni to find out more about the society.
What is Once a Month all about?
Once a Month is a student volunteer project whereby volunteers meet/get together once a month to package sanitary products and other items that are then distributed to charities across Nottingham. It’s part of the effort to fight period poverty on a local level!
The National Trust has ordered all of its volunteers to undergo diversity training as the organisation continues its woke rebrand.
The heritage body is forcing everyone, including rangers who do not work with the public, to carry out the training as they return to work from lockdown.
It has already caused friction among volunteers and led to several resignations, with one slamming the Trust s new political agenda .

Corpus Christi has most expensive hotel rates in Texas, according to survey

DALLAS, April 13, 2021 /PRNewswire/ Corpus Christi, located in the Gulf of Mexico, is the most expensive destination in Texas based on the cost of lodging, according to a recent survey conducted by CheapHotels.org.
The survey compared 30 cities in the Lone Star State, using the average rate for the cheapest available double room (minimum: 3-star hotel) during the month of April 2021. April is typically the month during which most Texan cities reach their highest average hotel rates.
To stay in Corpus Christi, travelers will have to spend an average of $105 per night. Also on the podium are the border city of El Paso and the McLennan County seat of Waco, with average overnight rates of $102 and $100, respectively, for their least expensive room.

Reports IoM faces ten church closures due to Covid-19 Diocesan Strategy for Church Buildings long underway
There are reports that ten churches could close across the Isle of Man this year, according to a leaked document shown to the BBC.
The Island was mentioned as just one of the areas where places of worship have suffered due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The issue is explained as a financial one as many have been unable to attend church, causing a sharp decline in donations to the Church of England.
