Beatport, a digital music retailer that focuses on aspiring and professional DJs, has announced that it will begin accepting Bitcoin as payment. The company also announced its first NFT that will be an audio and visual compilation.
Beatport will begin accepting Bitcoin as payment in June and will be the first digital music retailer to do so. The press release said that the company has a commitment to the emerging crypto and blockchain industries.
Beatport is now accepting bitcoin as payment on its website from June, and has teamed up with Crypto.com on a new A/V NFT collaboration with Boys Noize, Charlotte de Witte, Sasha, Third Son, Sama Abdulhadi and more. The NFT collection will feature unreleased tracks from the artists involved alongside visual art from Berlin-based artist Leif Podhajsky who’s worked with Bonobo, Tame Impala and the Sydney Opera House.
According to Beatport: “All ten tracks will then be packaged with bonus material as a 10-of-10 auction, and will include the bonus track, four guest passes to one show for each artist and extra visual content. A portion of the proceeds will be contributed to charity, including a carbon offset donation from Beatport.”

Charlotte de Witte has invited artists to submit demos to her techno imprint, KNTXT.
Writing in a post on Instagram today (15th), de Witte said: KNTXT Music is opening up for demo submissions. We’ll be accepting your demos for one week only and i can’t wait to listen to what’s out there. Since its launch in 2019, KNTXT has welcomed the likes of Chris Liebing, Monoloc, Alignment, and de Witte herself.
