WCCB Charlotte s CW April 19, 2021 CHARLOTTE, N.C. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating a homicide after one person was fatally shot in east Charlotte Sunday evening. Officers were dispatched to North Sharon Amity Road, off of Albemarle Road, around 8 p.m. after reports of a person being shot in the area. Upon arrival, officers located a victim in the road who had been shot. MEDIC pronounced the victim, identified as 46-year-old Jonathan Leonard McCorkle, died at the scene. This is an ongoing, active investigation. Anyone with information concerning the incident is asked to call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a Homicide Unit Detective.
