Panthers transitioning to artificial turf for home games

The Carolina Panthers home field will have a new playing surface in 2021.
Bank of America Stadium will transition from grass to artificial turf in advance of the Panthers preseason schedule in August.
The decision was made to help the Panthers and the Charlotte Football Club of Major League Soccer, which will begin playing their home games at the venue in 2022.
Tepper Sports Entertainment vice president and chief operating officer of the Panthers, Mark Hart, discussed the difficulties of sticking with a grass surface now that NFL, MLS, college football games, concerts and other events are expected to take place at the stadium.

Thieves have stolen precious items belonging to a former assistant manager who played a key role in Leicester City s 2016 Premier League title win.
Steve Walsh, who was also head of recruitment, was credited with signing Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez.
Among the items taken from his Lancashire home were a Premier League winners medal and a special edition Leicester City watch.
Police have confirmed they are investigating the burglary.
Mr Walsh, who left Leicester City to join Everton in 2016, is now a special advisor at Charlotte Football Club in North Carolina in the US.

CHARLOTTEÂ â The public-private partnership comprised of Atrium Health, Honeywell, Tepper Sports & Entertainment and Charlotte Motor Speedway launched another mass vaccination program this weekend at Bank of America Stadium, home of the Carolina Panthers and Charlotte Football Club.
The event brings together each organizationâs unique strengths in logistics, health care and managing large events in an effort to vaccinate as many community members as quickly as possible.
The mass vaccination event at Bank of America Stadium is projected to administer roughly 19,000 first dose vaccines over the three-day period, serving both drive-thru and walk-up traffic from Friday, Jan. 29, to Sunday, Jan. 31.
