The Cincinnati Auto Expo returns to the Duke Energy Convention Center Wednesday, marking one of the first major events to return to the center since the pandemic started.
But then I tried it on and I’m a fully paid up convert. I absolutely love it. So what persuaded me out of my elasticated waists and into waist-cinching lacing?
First, the sheer artistry. Like Eilish, I’m drawn to the beauty, the craftsmanship, the hourglass silhouette. With more than 100 components (including 45 steel and polymer bones) and its duchess satin lining, I feel elevated in its mere presence. Once I’d put it on and yanked on the straps – the corset has been designed so that you can put in on by yourself – I looked in the mirror and thought “not bad for an old bird.”
The previously undefeated Staples boys’ lacrosse team lost to Darien 10-7 at home on April 29. The Wreckers were ranked third in the state and the Blue Wave was ranked number one in the state entering the game.
At the start of the second quarter, the Blue Wave went on a 3-0 run to take a lead which was never lost, pushing the score to 6-3 entering halftime.
“We missed a lot of open opportunities on the offensive end and made a bunch of silly mistakes on the defensive end,” Derek Sale ’22 said.
At the start of the third quarter, Charlie Howard ’22 was able to score two goals to push the score to 7-5, but the Blue Wave went on another 3-0 run to end the threat of a comeback.

Who’s ready for summer? Yep, us too. And so is Ariana Grande – at least if her latest outfit is anything to go by. The pop superstar’s recent holiday-ready Instagram post captures her in a look that screams summer.
Posing poolside, Ariana embraced the forthcoming season’s skimpiest, sassiest trend: the extreme crop top. Already worn by Bella Hadid and Charli Howard, the style is as much a bra with sleeves as it is a top, and comes courtesy of New York brand Mirror Palais. The star’s “Underwire Polo” in a sheer lemon fabric was just the thing to show off her ribcage tattoo of a branch of leaves, which covers her pre-existing, Harry Potter-inspired “always” ink. When she revealed the leaves that now cover the phrase, Ariana clarified the design was “not a cover up just evolvin’”.
There can’t be many long-time Andover families who do not have a photograph or two taken by this old established firm whose presence in the town lasted for over a century. There was always stiff competition for business over that time but although a number of other local studios were set up, none of them lasted longer than the career of the photographer himself. In contrast, Howard’s passed from father to daughter and then, after the formation of a limited company, to Mr Ralph Page, who as photographer and proprietor, ran the business for a further 30 years or so.
