Former Edwin Allen star Kevona Davis, who is now at the University of Texas, finished fourth in the women s 60m on Saturday at the Charlie Thomas Invitational, hosted by Texas A&M.
The 19-year-old Jamaican crossed the line in 7.34 seconds and was no match for her University of Texas teammate St Lucian Julian Alfred, who continued to cement herself as one of the top sprinters in the country and University of Texas history.
Alfred set a meet record in the prelims, clocking 7.15 – the second-best mark in the country this season and tied for the sixth-best run in school history. Alfred followed it up by winning the final in 7.17. Her two marks gave her possession of five of the top eight 60-metre runs in school history (all 7.15 or lower) and seven of the top 12 times overall (all 7.18 or lower).

The 25th Earl of Sutherland prompted the auction after inheriting Dunrobin following the death of his mother, Elizabeth, in 2019.
From kitchen and domestic items - such as porcelain footbaths and chamber pots – to marble busts, weaponry and a collection of portraiture, the finds reflect the ‘upstairs, downstairs’ way of life at the imposing castle which overlooks the Dornoch Firth.
Charlie Thomas, Director of House Sales, Private & Iconic Collections at Bonhams, said: “There are 420 lots in total but many of them include multiple pieces. Some of the dinner services are vast and include hundreds of pieces. This sale is so interesting. It is a snapshot of a history that disappeared a lifetime ago. These items are surplus to modern day Dunrobin, which is now of course open to the public. Many of the items going for sale are from the 19th Century when the castle would have been very different, when it was used basically for entertaining, for grand sporting partie

Having recently inherited the family seat in 2019, (he narrowly pipped his twin brother Martin to the post, by virtue of being born a few minutes earlier), the Earl is now selling items including historic photographs and portraits (including a portrait of the Duke of Brunswick by Jan van Ravesteyn valued between £8,000-£12,000); a collection of 18th century firearms; busts and sculptures; as well as everyday objects that will provide much joy to social historians. These include foot baths, chamber pots, crested dinner services, tiered oyster holders and the like.

Houston Chronicle still gets letters to the editor it would seem, although we assume these are more frequently of the electronic variety than the ones that come in an envelope. And they print these on weekends when the only people reading them are those who one, still get a physical paper, and, two, are bored with reading the regular online comments (you can find the letters online too).
This past weekend, the letter featured was one from someone suggesting that Deshaun Watson should not be requesting a trade given his contract status. Among those who have begun to turn against the Texans young star quarterback, this is a familiar refrain. You re under contract. Deal with it!
