California inmate escapes jail after breaking through several layers of building material, authorities say

(Merced County Sheriff’s Office) Everitt, of Sacramento, was serving time for DUI, gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and for causing great bodily injury, FOX26 Fresno reported. In October 2019, Everitt was driving under the influence and crashed head-on with another vehicle, killing two people, the Merced Sun-Star reported.

After breaking through, Everitt reportedly made his way through the perimeter fencing and escaping custody.

Former Dunbar community officer fighting wildlife crime

Having recently taken up his new role as the investigative support officer for Scotland for the National Wildlife Crime Unit (NWCU), the officer is a source of expertise in wildlife crime at both local and national level. He is working with police wildlife liaison officers, NGOs, the Scottish Government, NatureScot, RSPB, the SSPCA and Scottish Land and Estates in a position which is funded by NatureScot. The former Dunbar community officer said that a lot of his time in the new role had been spent building connections with the various groups and organisations.
