(WCSC) - Authorities said a 52-year-old man has died from smoke inhalation from a house fire in North Charleston. The Charleston County Coroner’s Office said George Craven from North Charleston died at the burn center in Augusta on Tuesday morning. The house fire happened in the early morning hours of April 13 at a mobile home on Brossly Circle. While one resident was able to escape the fire and was found in the front yard, firefighters say they had to enter the home and start a fire attack and a search for a second person. Reports say the second resident was found in the home and rescued by firefighters.

(WCSC) - The driver of a truck that caused two deadly wrecks was traveling at more than double the posted speed limit at the time of the final crash. According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol Multi-disciplinary Accident Investigation Team, a truck was traveling at about 105 mph in the wrong direction, when it caused a wreck involving five other vehicles in North Charleston on September 21, 2020. The posted speed limit in the area is 50 mph. The investigation also found that Hume did not brake prior to the crash.The Charleston County Coroner’s Office identified that driver as 64-year-old Robin Hume.

Christopher Oliver, 64, of Charleston, died in the collision shortly after noon on Tuesday, Coroner Bobbi Jo O’Neal. Oliver died from blunt-force injuries he suffered in the crash, which happened shortly before 11:40 a.m. on Cosgrove Avenue, she said.
