Parliament has let the country down during the pandemic
Debates have been poor; voting by proxy. And even when MPs had the chance to oppose this war on liberty, the vast majority declined to act.

The Commons has risen for the summer, at the same time as schools, and if one had to give it a grade, it would be embarrassingly low. “Must do better”, especially at this revolutionary moment. At a time when the state has launched an unprecedented war on liberties, and spent vast sums of money, one would expect Parliament to be a hothouse of debate and dissent. Instead, the small opposition has been almost entirely limited to a handful of MPs from the Government’s own party. This is a far cry from the days of Brexit, when MPs – mostly Remain – were in constant rebellion. Now they are silent and compliant.
