The diocese has been consumed by the challenges of Covid-19. What do the parishes need at this time of crisis? They don’t need to be put under more financial pressure from the centre; they don’t need to be discussing sexuality; they don’t need diocesan consultations. I am rector of three parishes with a combined population of about 11,500 people. I oversee three beautiful listed buildings, one of which has just required maintenance costing more than £60,000.

Feb 20, 2021 Gerald “Cratz” Lovell, 78, of Yorkville, OH, died, Thursday, February 18, 2021, at Park Health Center, in St. Clairsville, OH. He was born on March 8, 1942, in Martins Ferry, OH, to the late Francis (Pebbles) Lovell and Dorothy (Beck). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Lovell and two sisters, Thresa Lovell and Mary Thomas. Gerry was retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, Mingo Junction. He was Catholic by faith. Gerry loved traveling and spending time with his family. Gerry was a devoted husband, father, and friend. He will be greatly missed! Gerry is survived by his wife of 55 years, Janet (Jackson) Lovell; a son, Patrick (Alane) Lovell, of Nashville, IN; two daughters, Barbie (Andy) McKeegan, of Colerain, OH and Lainee (Chris) Siegler, of Cody, Wyoming; five grandchildren; two step grandsons; one step great-grandson; a great- grandson and several nieces and nephews.

NEW ELECTION RULES IN MAINE, TEXAS, AND UTAH BOOSTED MINOR PARTY 2020 VOTE In November 2020, different election rules in Maine, Texas, and Utah were in effect for the first time. As expected, in all three states, the new rules boosted the minor party vote. In Maine, the new rule was the use of ranked choice voting for president. In Texas and Utah, the new rules were the elimination of the straight-ticket device. Texas eliminated it in 2018 but the change was not effective until 2020. Utah eliminated it in 2020.
