Charles City, IA – Charles City High School Associate Principal Larry Wolfe is a familiar face to students and parents at the Charles City High School and he will get to know even more families, virtually, next year. Wolfe, the associate principal with the Charles City High School for nearly nine years, will lead the new virtual and alternative learning campus as the Innovative Campus Principal.
Wolfe will be working with experienced faculty members: Josh Dean, Dan Caffrey, Don Betts, David Voves, Marie Conklin, Naomi Yaddof, Susan Leeper, Stena Schmitt, and Julie Mostead along with current faculty members. Together, they will begin a new venture combining resources and uniting to serve students and families who choose to continue with School to You, Home School Assistance Program, Carrie Lane High School, and credit recovery after this COVID season. Michael “Mike” Joe Peters, 71, of Charles City, IA died on Friday, February 12, 2021 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.
A private family and close friends memorial service will be held at Fullerton-Hage Funeral Home with inurnment at a later date at Sunnyside Memory Garden in Charles City.
Mike was born on September 12, 1949 in Charles City to Harlan and Ella (Smith) Peters. He attended school and graduated from Charles City High School in 1967. Mike then went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree in Geology from Carleton College in Northfield, MN; Mike wrestled in high school and went on to wrestle in college. After college he began working as a purchasing agent and worked for several companies including White Farm in Charles City and FMC in California. For most of his life and up until his passing, Mike was a resident of Charles City but also spent time living in California and Kansas City.
