Joshua Culibao will attempt to secure his first octagon victory when he faces Chinese talent Yilan Sha in a featherweight bout on May 22, multiple people with knowledge of the booking told MMA Fighting.
The UFC has yet to announce the location and broadcast details for the show, which features Cody Garbrandt vs. Rob Font in a five-round bantamweight headliner.
Australia’s Culibao (8-1-1) joined the UFC as an undefeated 8-0 prospect in 2020 but lost via TKO to Jalin Turner before fighting to a split draw with Charles Jourdain eight months later.
Sha (19-6) cuts back down to 145 pounds after going 4-1 as a lightweight in his five recent MMA bouts in his native China, stopping three of his opponents.

UFC Vegas 21 Medical Suspensions: Belal Muhammad Given Minimum Suspension
Belal Muhammad could be back in action in no time.
Muhammad made headlines for all the wrong reasons at UFC Vegas 21 this past weekend when he was caught with an unintentional but brutal eye poke from Leon Edwards in their welterweight headliner.
It meant their bout ended prematurely in the second round as a no contest. Fortunately, Muhammad’s vision was coming back as he revealed there was no permanent damage with his eye.
And he can be back action sooner rather than later as he just needs to receive clearance from an ophthalmologist for his right eye to compete again. That aside, he will only be given a minimum suspension until April 13 with no contact until April 4.

UFC Vegas 21 ended off on a sour note as the main event between Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad was ruled a no contest. That ruling came after Muhammad was poked in the eye by Edwards and was rendered incapable of continuing the fight.
Before that, the card was witness to some bruising affairs and a couple of crushing knockouts. Because of this there were a number of lengthy suspensions handed out by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
