2,000 more vaccine doses on the way

We heard some great news coming out of Artesia General Hospital. Hospital spokesperson David McEachern told KSVP Radio on Monday that they are expecting 2,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine to arrive this week.
This represents a major ramp up of vaccines being provided to Eddy County, who had been lagging behind most of the state up to this point. McEachern said he expects they will continue to receive a higher number of doses for some time.
He said Artesia General is following the state’s outline on vaccine eligibility, but they will also not let any vaccines go to waste. He stressed that it is imperative that everyone who wants to receive a vaccine register through the state’s website at https://cvvaccine.nmhealth.org/ - this includes those who have already registered at the hospital. We appreciate Artesia General’s initiative in this effort.

American businesses would be significantly impacted with hundreds of billions losses in foregone GDP and capital gains and U.S. productivity and innovation undermined if the United States and China were to fully decouple, a new report showed Wednesday.
The United States would forgo 190 billion dollars in gross domestic product (GDP) annually by 2025, if 25-percent tariffs were expanded to cover all two-way trade, according to the analysis by U.S. Chamber of Commerce s China Center in partnership with Rhodium Group.
If decoupling leads to the sale of half of the U.S. foreign direct investment (FDI) stock in China, U.S. investors will lose 25 billion dollars per year in capital gains, and models point to one-time GDP losses of up to 500 billion dollars, showed the report titled Understanding U.S.-China Decoupling: Macro Trends and Industry Impacts.

Additionally, he warned that excessive regulations and anti-competitive taxes would undermine the recovery.
To complement the speech, the U.S. Chamber is presenting three State of American Business Policy Power Hours highlighting common-sense policy solutions for strengthening the recovery on the international, national, and state/local levels.
In the first of three Policy Power Hours, Myron Brilliant, executive vice president and head of International Affairs at the U.S. Chamber, led a discussion on U.S. global engagement and international trade.
