Two Stroud surgeries to begin Covid vaccinations

Rowcroft Medical Centre and Beeches Green Health Centre in Stroud has been named as two of Gloucestershire s community Covid-19 vaccination centres. GP practice teams, with the support of local partners including volunteers, will start vaccination of priority groups (over 80s) at the sites in the coming days, pending vaccine deliveries. Starting with people over 80, roll out of the vaccination programme will be expanded in the coming weeks and months to include other priority groups by age and people who are particularly vulnerable. People are being asked to wait for their GP surgery to contact them about local arrangements and timings.

BELMONT Stan Sobel, a man who made a big impact on his community and on hundreds of local students, died Tuesday. He was 74. Born in Columbus, Sobel attended Ohio State University and several other institutions of higher learning before launching his career as a science teacher. He moved to Belmont County in the 1970s, beginning a long term of service at Union Local High School teaching classes such as biology and physiology. Dozens of his former students expressed kind wishes for him or a willingness to help meet his needs during his recent illness.

Lloydminster s Gift to Health surpasses fundraising goal by over $100,000

SHARE ON: Lloydminster s Gift to Health, hosted by Shaun Newman, surpassed its fundraising goals. (Lloydminster Region Health Foundation, Facebook) Lloydminster residents and businesses came together to show their love and care for seniors and members of the community who are in need of care at the hospital. Lloydminster’s Gift to Health, a 12 hour radiothon organized by the Lloydminster Region Health Foundation, aimed to raise $200,000 to help connect seniors and people in the hospital with their loved ones and surpassed that goal by over $100,000. Donations made during the event goes towards tablets and phones to help seniors and their families stay in touch, portable oxygen machines, lab equipment, defibrillators for the hospital and other care equipment such as blanket and towel warmers and ice machines used to aid with swelling.
