VOLUNTEERS have dug deep to support a community gardening project following a spate of vandalism during lockdown. Digging Deeside thanked the team from Mill Lane Allotment Association, based in Connah’s Quay, for helping to replant and replace flowers and tidy up their site after a series of break-ins. The team was left devastated after lockdown brought on more hardship thanks to a spate of criminal activity. A greenhouse was smashed and items stolen, to the disappointment of Sarah Way, facilitator at Digging Deeside, part of the Rainbow BIZ CIC initiative. The horticulture scheme supports vulnerable and marginalised members of the local area, promoting good health, mindfulness, and green issues.
A 74-year-old New Jersey man died in a Pennsylvania skydiving accident Sunday, officials said.
Ed Harney, of Paramus (Bergen County) was pronounced dead shortly after the incident in Smithfield Township, the Monroe County Coroner s Office said.

BUSINESSES are gearing up to open their doors today (Monday) as restrictions begin to ease. After months of uncertainty, all remaining shops can reopen from today, completing the phased reopening of non-essential retail. The Hippy Shop in Mold is just one small independent retailer that is keen to open up their doors once again. RainbowBiz CIC is a multi-award winning social enterprise running several projects, both online through the pandemic and also slowly restarting some projects in person. This work is primarily funded by the trading arm of the enterprise which is the Hippy Shop in Mold. One-hundred per cent of all profits from sales are reinvested back into the social enterprise to support vulnerable people in the community.
