Labour politician s Jack Sargeant and Hannah Blythyn have been re-elected to serve Flintshire in the Senedd after winning the 2021 elections. LABOUR politicians in Flintshire have been able to keep their Senedd seats following a victory at the polls. After a tense election campaign, both Hannah Blythyn and Jack Sargeant kept their titles for Delyn and Alyn & Deeside respectively. The first Labour victory came from the Delyn team – when Ms Blythyn was announced as the official winner by several thousand votes. Moments after learning she would be returning to the Senedd, she said: “Thank you to the constituents of Delyn, the community where I grew up and still live, for putting your trust and faith in me once again in our Senedd

As the polls close on Thursday, May 7, Wales looks set to be on course for a hung parliament and some kind of coalition.
We won t know the final result until late on Friday or even Saturday morning but with the polls suggesting many constituencies are in play we ve looked at the key election battlegrounds to look out for as the votes are counted.
IT is now more than three weeks since non-essential retailers have been able to open. In those weeks people have begun to return to Wrexham town centre to visit shops as well as barbershops and salons. On Friday, the Leader visited the town centre to get a snapshot of the current normal post-lockdown We then asked Sarah Atherton, MP for Wrexham, on the new normal for Wrexham town centre and her hopes for the future. She said: “The changing face of the high street in Wrexham is evident and these changes will continue as we exit the current restrictions, especially given the impacts of the pandemic. However, I am supportive of the Council with their ambitions for Wrexham, working with them, for example, to access UK Government funding. Going forward, I am looking forward to the opportunities in Wrexham to change and improve the face of the high street. Wrexham inundated with political visits ahead of the election on Thursday
Wrexham has seen many senior figures from a range of political parties rock up over the last few weeks, each wanting to highlight why their favoured candidate will do a better job in the Senedd than anyone else.
Polling day is on Thursday for both the Senedd – and the next Police and Crime Commissioner for North Wales.
A lot of work has gone into making sure polling stations are as safe as possible on May 6, but you can help by following a few simple steps when you go to vote:
