UH track and field seniors shine at final regular season meet UH track and field’s women’s 4×100-meter relay team exchanges the baton on its way to victory in the event at the Tom Tellez Invitational. | Courtesy of UH athletics In the final regular season meet of 2021, the Houston track and field team picked up several first-place and podium finishes in the Tom Tellez Invitational. Graduate students Mikaila Martin and Taylor Scaife started UH off in the right direction in the field events to start the meet, finishing second and third place in the women’s hammer throw with tosses of 66.89 and 64.22 meters respectively.

Highlighting the first day of action were two personal-best times, with the first belonging to junior Devin Vallejo-Bannister who clocked in a time of 3:49.40 for an eighth-place finish in the men’s 1500-meter run.

Bissaillon struck out 15 against four walks and three hits surrendered. The senior wasn’t done there, going 2-for-4 at the plate with three RBIs for the Wasps (2-1).
