A P C x sacai: Jean Touitou Explains the Accidental Collab

A.P.C. x sacai: Jean Touitou Explains the Accidental Collab A.P.C.’s Jean Touitou Wants To Clear Up a Few Things About Selvedge Denim A.P.C. / Sacai A.P.C. has been known to get into bed with an eclectic group of collaborators: Kanye West, JJJJound, iconic French actress Catherine Deneuve, Nike, Carhartt WIP, and Kid Cudi among them. Perhaps there s something about A.P.C. that just lends itself to having a dialogue? Or perhaps it s the forthcoming nature of its founder, Jean Touitou. Next up for A.P.C. s interactions roster is sacai, Chitose Abe s label that s best known –  at least among younger audiences – for doubling down on Swooshes and soles for the wildly successful Nike Vaporwaffle collaborations. However, sacai has been developing a cult fan base for those who appreciate hybridized clothing since its inception in 1999. Much like A.P.C., sacai has a good understanding of who its customer is and why they shop in their stores.

What 38 Designers, Photographers, and Other Insiders Missed Most About Paris Fashion Week

If Paris Fashion Week in digital form has remained saturated with propositions and visions of the clothes we will be seeing and perhaps wearing in a few months, it’s only natural to be feeling a certain wistfulness for the experience as it used to be not so long ago. La nostalgie, as the French say. For those who call Paris home, these feelings are particularly pronounced as almost all outward activity has been nonexistent: the mega-production tents, the street style peacocking and paparazzi, the terraces packed with people who look simultaneously beautiful and bizarre, the models off-duty and spontaneous celebrity sightings; the busier stores and buzzier hotel lobbies, the influx of chauffeured cars; the crowds outside venues, craning their necks for a glimpse of the glamour.

A New Documentary About Legendary Parisian Store Colette Is Catnip For Fashion Fans

“We were never on stand-by,” Sarah Andelman remembers of running her legendary Parisian boutique Colette. “We were always in action and excited to look for another adventure and the next fabulous thing to share in our windows.” For two decades, Colette reigned supreme as the original concept store, garnering a global following and marking itself as the coolest one-stop destination for all things fashionable from the moment it opened its doors in 1997. Co-founded by Andelman and her mother Colette Rousseau after whom the store was named the duo created a space that broke down the barriers between fashion, design, art and food. It also spawned hundreds of surprising collaborations with everyone from McDonald’s to Mattel, mixing luxury designers with streetwear, fine art and fast food, as well as hosting countless performances, shows and installations. Notable moments included a Chanel pop-up in a former garage, complete with handbag customisation and nail bars; a premier
