Five of New Zealand’s top parks and open spaces were
recognised at last night’s New Zealand Parks Awards
ceremony, hosted by Recreation Aotearoa.
The
Plimmerton Domain Dog Recreation Area (Te Papa Tākaro Kurī
o Te Papa Rēhia o Taupō), serviced by Porirua City
Council, was named Active Park of the Year. The Active Park
Award recognises the park’s commitment to accessibility,
community engagement, and wellbeing.
The judges were
impressed by the thought and collaboration that went into
the development of Te Papa Tākaro Kurī o Te Papa Rēhia o
Taupō including the bilingual signage. They saw the park as
Stargirl s renewal for a third season.
She s speaking with
Digital Spy around a week after the show received the good news months before season two has aired a single episode. She mentions that her other series – Amy Poehler s
Duncanville – also received an early pick-up. It s crazy in this day and age when we ve all been so forced to remain minute-to-minute in our lives, she continues. So to hear that we re going to get to continue, but it s so far in the future, it s good. It gives me hope, you know. To know that is coming is a really nice thing to look forward to.

Last summer, Anna Ramsey suffered a flare-up of juvenile dermatomyositis, a rare autoimmune condition, posing a terrifying prospect for the Los Angeles resident: She might have to undergo chemotherapy, further compromising her immune system during a pandemic.
After an agonizing three-day wait, the results of a blood test came back in her online patient portal but she didn’t understand them. As hours passed, Ramsey bit her nails and paced. The next day, she gave in and emailed her doctor, who responded with an explanation and a plan.

Sara Ford’s recent Commentary (Cape Gazette, May 11-13) on behalf of the Southern Delaware Alliance for Racial Justice was interesting.
It cannot have been an editorial coincidence that the bulk of that commentary appeared beneath a picture titled “Baseball Game at Milton Colored School in 1952.”
I am a 2015 retiree and transferee from southern New Jersey. When I moved here, I was surprised to learn how recent overt racial segregation and its influence on everyday life was (and for some, still is) in southern Delaware. The picture as well as the attitudes of some that caused Ms. Ford to write her Commentary are reminders to me of that surprise.
